Mammoplasty process
There are several method and techniques for mammoplasty procedure. All of these techniques include removing the extra breast tissue, reshaping the breast and changing nipple’s position. The chosen technique depends on factors like patient’s physical condition and the outcome that the patient expects. In one of the most common techniques, one incision is made around the areola and the other is made from the bottom of the areola down toward the underlying breast crease. And a thin tube will be temporarily placed under the skin in order to remove extra discharge and liquid.
Mammoplasty Postoperative Care
After the surgery, bandages will be applied to the incisions in order to decrease inflation and inflammation, also to protect breasts till the full recovery is achieved.
Regarding physical activities, walking is highly recommended but you will need to avoid strenuous activities for up to 4 to 6 weeks. Be careful to keep the stitches totally clean. If you develop dry breast skin after the surgery, you can use lotions to solve this problem.
